Our Vision

Let Texas Decide is an ongoing campaign of the Texas Nationalist Movement to provide information on the right of Texans to leave the union and the benefits of doing so. From its inception, we knew that the people of Texas, armed with the facts and presented with the opportunities that independence would provide, would want to exercise their right to vote on the issue.

Becoming an independent nation doesn’t mean isolation – not from the rest of the United States nor the rest of the world. It means that we reclaim the right to govern ourselves in the manner that we see fit and, in turn, can engage the U.S. and the world on our terms. In fact, it is our love for the principles on which the United States and Texas were founded that leads us to take action to preserve those principles.

But this is not just about looking back. It is about Texans taking control of their future and creating our own destiny. With the right of self-government restored to Texans, we can choose our own course Рa course of strength, prosperity, and freedom.

We believe that many Texans have been unable to form an informed opinion on independence due to the tremendous amount of misinformation and propaganda by the opposition. Texans have, for too long, been told that we can’t even exercise our fundamental right to vote on the issue. Let Texas Decide has worked ceaselessly to dispel these myths and remind Texans that the power to decide their political future is solely in their hands.

To that end, we invite you to become informed on this issue as starting point for discussion. It’s long passed time that Texans had real, honest, and direct discussion on our relationship with the Federal Government. The information on this site is not the end of the discussion. Rather, it is a place to start a dialog. Let the conversation continue.

Polling has consistently shown that independence is a trans-partisan issue. The most recent polling data exclusively on this issue, overlaid with actual voting data shows that right at a majority of Texans are ready for independence.

As a percentage of registered Texas voters, when compared with other political organizations, more Texans support independence than any other cause other than the two major political parties.

Texas Already Has The Structure Of A National Government

Contrary to the opinion that the Federal Government is the main provider of services and departments the Texas government actually administers many federal mandates and provides departments and services that meet or exceed federal services. Texas has military and intelligence departments, a parks and wildlife service, education, health and human health services, energy regulations, environmental protections, business and trade promotion and even exceeds the federal government in cultural promotion such as the Texas Music Office.
